From colorful trunks to costumes and laughter, Metro’s Children’s Fellowship hosted a weekend full of unforgettable moments for kids and families alike.

We asked our community group leaders one question: “What is one thing you learned from our pastors at Metro?”

"Metro is on the verge of the biggest transition we’ve experienced since our initial move into our current 4200 Ridge Avenue location in 2012."

As long as I kept succeeding, there was no reason for me to feel that putting faith in myself was a bad way to live.

I was always the one willing to carry other’s burdens but had difficulty letting others carry mine.

Metro’s college group has impacted my life in that I found people I can trust and be vulnerable with.

I am now a firm believer that in the context of community, people change.

When one is in darkness for an extended period of time, the first exposure to the light is very painful.

More than anything, we wanted to be community dependent—both supporting and being supported by others.

Who doesn’t want to be a person of enduring value, a person who is valued and appreciated?

I began to see that if Jesus isn’t my Lord, then something else will always be my Lord.

I experienced through pain and joy that the church is not a country club where you come dressed in Sunday best, but a place—a home—where rags are welcomed.

Love isn’t something we need to emulate or live up to, but something that Jesus already did and is.

On my best days, I live life believing I am beyond the need for Christ, although I may never say or even consciously think that statement. Then on my worst days, I feel that I am beyond the reach of Christ, needing to work until I am acceptable again.

Born and raised in California, I never thought I’d live on the East Coast. Two questions, however, changed all that.

If I’m actually accepted by the Father Himself because of Jesus’ sacrifice, shouldn’t I be free from the need to break my back to gain acceptance from my friends, family, and coworkers?
