The Question that All of Christianity Hangs On
All the roads of the Christian faith lead to this day, Resurrection Sunday. Easter is the day Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the event on which all of Christianity stands or falls. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15, this is of first importance. Tim Keller, one of the greatest preachers of our era, put it this way: "If Jesus rose from the dead, then you have to accept all that he said. If he didn't rise from the dead, then why worry about any of what he said?" It doesn't actually matter if you like or agree with what Christians believe; everything hangs on whether or not Jesus actually rose from the dead.
In this Resurrection Sunday sermon, we consider what the resurrection of Jesus gives us: a lasting faith, a lasting hope, and a lasting power. Whether you have followed Jesus for years or are still asking questions, this message invites you to consider the logical and forensic truth of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and what it means for your life today.
