If King David's Life Blew Up, So Can Yours

In this sermon series, we've been looking into what it means to have Gospel Character, specifically through the lens of David, one of the greatest Kings in the history of Israel. Many people read David’s story and come away wanting to be like him: bold, victorious, and strong enough to face the giants in their own lives. But in 2 Samuel 11 and 12, we are confronted with a very different picture: a king who is immoral, dishonorable, and even murderous.

The point of this passage is not simply, "Be like David." It is that, like David, we are far more capable of unimaginable and unthinkable sin than we often want to admit. And yet, even here, God’s grace proves deeper than our sin.

In this sermon, we look at three sobering and hopeful truths this passage teaches us about sin: the signs of sin, the power of sin, and the victory over sin that only God can bring.
