As cars slowly rolled in, Metro’s Crossroads Children’s Fellowship transformed an empty parking lot into a Trunk-or-Treat full of color, candy, and laughter on Saturday, October 25, for the annual Metro Monster Mash! Trunk themes came to life as families, couples, and friends decorated their cars with displays, games, and, of course, candy.

Themes ranged from Pokémon to Paw Patrol, with kids (and adults!) dressed up in various costumes, including shark inflatables, Minion overalls, Sesame Street onesies, and much more.

Children ran to the craft table to choose fun temporary tattoos, played an apple toss at the games station, and even enjoyed a live concert at the YouTube trunk by our very own worship pastor, Tim Shin.

Kids spent time knocking soda pop cans off the Park’s K-Pop Demon Hunters-themed truck, doing push-ups at Paul and Aaron’s Planet Fitness station, playing the mini claw machine at Janice and Brian’s Round One trunk, and eating loads of tteokbokki, a spicy Korean rice cake, at the Kim’s tent—which deservedly won the Best Trunk award at the end of the event.

On Sunday, the children came in their costumes once again, and Children’s Director Tina Ro prayed for them on stage during both of the 11:30 AM (East Falls) and 4:00 PM (Cherry Hill) Sunday services.

Tina expressed, “Our hope is that our children are reminded of the true joy found only in Jesus. We hope that they catch a glimpse of that lasting freedom and grace on this side of heaven at events like this. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a wonderful day!”
